An analytical technique of isotope ratio analysis of individual Pu particles was developed by using indictively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). For the analysis, Pu oxide particles prepared from an NBL SRM 947 standard were used. The Pu-240/Pu-239 isotope ratios measured for the particles were consistent with the certified value. However, the RSD value obtained by the measurement of the particle with the diameter of 0.65 m was not sufficient. In contrast, the RSD values measured by using a desolvation system gave better precision within 1.6 %. At the next step, we will establish the analytical method for individual Pu particles by a combination of ICP-MS and chemical separation.
